What is StreamRelay Core and how does it benefit me?
StreamRelay Core is your personal cloud reception point for live streaming. It receives streams from mobile apps (like Moblin or IRLPro) or any RTMP/SRT source. You can then embed this stream as a stable media source in OBS Studio without loading your home network with the ingest.
How fast will my endpoint be ready?
Deployment is fully automated. Your StreamRelay Core is configured after purchase. In most cases, your access credentials for OBS and Moblin are available in your dashboard in under 5 minutes.
Is the Core an RTMP server or an SRT server?
Both. You can use the Core flexibly as an RTMP endpoint or a modern SRT server. This lets you receive a stream from any common app and embed it as a high-quality source in OBS.
What exactly is an SRT/RTMP ingest endpoint?
An ingest endpoint is a dedicated input channel on your server. Each endpoint lets you send one active signal — for example from your phone via Moblin. If you want multiple sources available simultaneously, you'll need additional endpoints.
SRT vs. RTMP: which is better for OBS integration?
For mobile streaming from unstable connections, we recommend SRT (Secure Reliable Transport). SRT offers built-in error correction that recovers lost packets on weak connections — reducing interruptions compared to RTMP. Note: if the phone signal drops completely, the source in OBS goes dark — but your stream to Twitch or YouTube keeps running. Tools like NOALBS can automatically switch scenes in that case.
